Forecast for Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike. What day is it Mike? The day of the sure thing?

So you’re saying there’s a chance. Not only that, but it’s a lock! I’ll put all my money on measurable rainfall today. The National Weather Service in Joe Namath style has guaranteed measurable rainfall today putting the chance at 100%. I was always told that if it’s too good to be true… But I trust our Meteorologists so I’m pushing all my chips to the center of the table. Seems like a good bet too. A storm system to our west should track right on through today and tonight. .25″ to .50″ of rain expected for valley locations and snow above 6,000 feet. Lingering showers tomorrow morning and then we clear out and warm up. The weekend looks fantastical! Then perhaps a bit of rain in here by Monday. Stay tuned.

Rain today and breezy fo sheezy with SSE winds 15-25 mph and a high in the upper 60s. Showers tonight low 40s. Showers linger perhaps tomorrow morning otherwise clearing skies and a high in the low 60s. Mostly sunny Friday upper 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 70s. Mostly sunny Sunday upper 70s. A 20% chance for rain Monday and Tuesday upper 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Just our luck. The wind returns! It’s blowing in rain and mountain snow with our next storm, so there’s that. Prime time will be tomorrow afternoon/evening. The weekend looks nice! Then a couple more storms moving in next week for a pinch more rain. Stay tuned!

The rest of the country might be green with envy. Decreasing clouds today with a high in the mid 70s. However. Breezy fo Sheezy with SSW winds 10-20 mph and gusty. Partly cloudy tonight upper 40s. Breezier fo Sheezier tomorrow with S winds 15-20 mph +. Showers and possibly a storm mid 60s. Lingering showers Thursday low 60s.

Sunny Friday upper 60s. Mostly sunny Saturday and Sunday mid 70s. Mostly sunny Monday AND a chance for rain mid 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, March 16, 2020

Happy Monday! (it could happen)

Nice! Upper 70s to near 80ish today. Amazing! Breezy fo Sheezy tomorrow as our next Winter storm approacheth. It’ll still be warm with a high in the mid 70s and SSW winds 10-15 mph and gusty.

Then it’s a 100% chance of rain on Wednesday. Low 60s for a high in the Metro. Snow levels dropping to 5,500 feet Wednesday night and likely lower Thursday morning. Lingering showers Thursday and a high only near 60ish.

Back to sunshine Friday and warming up in time for the weekend. Upper 60s Friday. Mid 70s Saturday. 10% chance for showers Sunday low 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, March 15, 2020

Beware the Ides of March lest you get stabbed in the back by some brut. Otherwise, you should be good! Certainly the weather is both peachy and keen. Sunny today mid 70s. Our next storm approacheth and with it a few more high clouds tomorrow. Still. Mostly sunny upper 70s. A few clouds Tuesday and a bit breezy mid 70s.

Step right up for the main event as the next cold upper low rolls in. Prime time for the storm looks to be Wednesday afternoon, but plenty of action into Thursday. Accumulating snow above 6,000 feet with snow as low as 5,000 before all is said and done at the end of the day and other trite phrases. A chilly rain for the rest. A few thunderstorms may get thrown into the mix as well. Call it showers likely Wednesday otherwise partly sunny mid 60s. Showers Wednesday night mid 40s. Scattered showers Thursday low 60s.

The storm is outta here in time for another nice weekend. Sunny Friday near 70ish. Mid 70s Saturday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Saturday, March 14, 2020

Great weekend for a hike! Alone. Far away from virus-ridden humans. Or. Stay at home and not watch March Madness on any of your streaming devices. Your call. Meanwhile, the Tucson Weather remains rather benign into early next week. That is until our next plot turn. Will an upper level low find happiness bringing showers to the desert southwest? Will the desert southwest’s thirst finally be quenched? How low will the snow go? To the answers to just one of these questions (if it comes true) is coming up next. Stay tuned!

It is a gorgeous weekend already in progress with a high today in the low 70s. Sunny mid 70s tomorrow.

Mostly sunny and warm Monday upper 70s. Mostly sunny, breezy, and warm Tuesday upper 70s. Our next storm approacheth. Showers commencing perhaps as early as Tuesday night with showers likely by Wednesday and a high in the upper 60s. Showers likely Wednesday night and Thursday with mountain snow. Thursday’s high near 60ish. Snow levels dropping to as low as 5,000 feet Thursday night with lingering showers Friday becoming mostly sunny upper 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Thursday, March 12, 2020

It’s Friday Eve! It actually makes the weekend seem closer, so there’s that.

OK. Let’s talk. I know you might be thinking that yesterday’s forecast was a bust. I mean, come on weatherdude, where was our promised rain? Some things to keep in mind. First. The airport did pick up .01″ of an inch yesterday morning (before you got up probably) so technically the 40% chance of measurable rain came true! I know what you are thinking. (and you’d be right) That was NOT the expectation put forth by the forecast. I get it. Weather forecasting is still an inexact science despite all the computer models and super smart men and women at the National Weather Service. The fact that the weather is still uncertain despite our best efforts is a feature as far as I’m concerned. It keeps life interesting! Besides. Weatherfolk make good punching bags 🙂

So. Would you trust me if I said today is the day?! Record amounts of moisture in the atmosphere for March combined with increasing instability should (should) lead to showers and storms today and tonight. Heavy rain is possible! Confidence is so high that the National Weather Service has put the rain chances at 100% for today and tonight. Prime time looks to be late today into the overnight hours. Then the storm moves on leaving us with our memories of what was (or wasn’t), along with a sunny relationship with the weekend. Don’t be sad that it’s over. Be glad that it happened! You know. If it does…

Showers and storms today and a high in the low 70s. Heavy rain possible tonight low 50s. Lingering showers tomorrow otherwise mostly sunny mid 60s.

Sunshine rules the weekend! Near 70ish Saturday. Mid 70s Sunday and Monday. Our next storm is promising rain (you give me, promises promises) and mountain snow. 20% chance for showers Tuesday low 70s. Showers likely Wednesday mid 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Just wow! Is this really reality or are we in a simulation? Perhaps our future selves are interested in seeing what would happen if the Sonoran Desert received rain for almost an entire week in March? Perhaps. Or. This is reality and we have to deal! It won’t be a steady rain for the whole week, but rather periods of rain through Friday. A storm system currently off the coast of California will slowly be moving our way. Lots of tropical moisture streaming northward ahead of the low with disturbances in the force triggering areas of rain. The storm itself should move through by Friday. Total rainfall amounts could be a half inch to two and a half inches in valley locations! The mountains should get even more with snow levels higher than the highest peaks until the very end. Get ready to fill those cisterns! And yeah, sometimes the skies ARE cloudy all day. Details in 3… 2…

Mostly cloudy today with scattered showers and a high in the mid 70s. Showers likely tonight upper 50s. Showers likely tomorrow with perhaps a few thunderstorms mid 70s. Showers and storms likely Thursday low 70s. Showers likely Friday mid 60s.

Clearing out Friday night just in time for a sunny weekend. Near 70ish Saturday. Mid 70s Sunday. Mostly sunny Monday low 70s. Don’t look now, but another round of showers possible by Tuesday of next week. Stay tuned and enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, March 9, 2020

Happy Monday! It could happen.

A big storm hangin’ ten off the California Coast will be sending us moisture and disturbances in the force for an extended period of unsettled Tucson Weather (see how I got the branding in there?) 🙂 Just looking at the official forecast from the National Weather Service we have Showers Likely for Tuesday, Tuesday Night, Wednesday, Wednesday Night, Thursday, and Thursday night! Throw in a few thunderstorms and a continued chance for showers Friday and you’ve got (you have got?) a recipe for a half inch to over two inches of rain for the Metro this week! We’ll see how it all plays out. Stay tuned!

Sunny today with increasing clouds this afternoon and a high in the mid 70s. A chance for showers tonight mid 50s. Showers likely tomorrow morning otherwise mostly cloudy mid 70s. Showers likely Wednesday with thunderstorms possible after noon mid 70s. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm Thursday near 70ish. Partly sunny Friday with a 50% chance for showers upper 60s. Sunny Saturday low 70s. Upper 70s Sunday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, March 8, 2020

As the rest of the country shows up to church an hour late because they forgot to Spring Forward, Arizonans enjoyed another night of regularly scheduled sleep last night. Funny thing that Daylight Savings Time. It artificially creates a nation of cranky people with higher heart attack and accident rates as they adjust. Arizonans remain well adjusted year ’round. So I raise my coffee mug to the Grand Canyon State from sleep deprived Texas. Here’s to you! May the rest of the country follow your lead and adopt your wisdom. Let’s keep Standard Time as the standard! Arizonans are tired of their national cable shows being on an hour earlier, and the rest of the country is, well, just tired. Where was I? Oh yeah. The Tucson Weather Fore-guess! 🙂 Here we go…

A few showers around today with plenty of sunshine too. Be on the lookout for rainbows! Unicorns too I suppose, but I’m not sure I would tell anyone if I saw one. (I brake for hallucinations) Cooler today with a high this afternoon of 70ish. A brief break from the showers tomorrow with mostly sunshine and a high in the upper 70s.

An extended rainy/showery period the rest of the week is in store as a large storm system is off the California coast. It will be drawing moisture northward into the Southwest as it spins to our west. Embedded disturbances in the force will bring shower chances from time to time Tuesday through Friday perhaps lingering into Saturday! A 40% chance Tuesday mid 70s. 60% Wednesday upper 70s. 50% Thursday low 70s. 40% Friday upper 60s (as the main low tracks through). 10% Saturday otherwise mostly sunny low 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Saturday, March 7, 2020

It was the best of weekends. It was the worst of weekends. It is the weekend of our (dis)content. A little something for the Sunshine on My Shoulder folks followed by the Ain’t No Sunshine when it’s gone gang. Low 80s again today (it was 81 yesterday) with sunshine and an easterly breeze 5-15 mph. An increase of moisture will bring us rain chances tomorrow with a high near 70ish.

Timeout on the court with a break in the action on Monday. Highs rebounding to the upper 70s. Moisture returns for the rest of the week and so do the rain chances! Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance for showers Tuesday upper 70s. Showers likely (60%) Wednesday mid 70s. 40% chance for showers Thursday low 70s. 20% Friday low 70s. Enjoyeth!
