Forecast for Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Yesterday’s high of 95 outperformed the forecast of 92. Still not a bad day for mid May. Yesterday’s breezes dying a bit more today but still a west breeze 5-15 mph and gusty with a high again in the mid 90s.

Refreshingly cool again tomorrow morning with a low near 60ish. (we got down to 59 this morning, so kinda like that)

A brief warm up Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the upper 90s.

Here come the winds again by Friday. Maybe not as windy as the last several days, but still on the gusty side as yet another system misses us to the north. Highs back into the low 90s Friday and Saturday. Warming back up Sunday mid 90s. Upper 90s Monday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, May 14, 2018

Mother’s Day was nice. Yes, kinda windy but the high of 91 was exactly average and the low of 61 was just 1 degree above average. Pretty much what you would expect for this time of year. An upper level low is overstaying it’s welcome in northern Nevada. It’s weakening so our winds won’t be as strong today, but still some breezes to contend with. High pressure builds in for a warm up Wednesday and Thursday. Then it’s more wind and cooler by the end of the week into the beginning of the weekend as yet another low blows by to the north. Barely a cloud in the sky, but you can never rule out a few high clouds for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement. Enjoy!

Sunny and a bit breezy today with SW winds 10-20 mph gusting to around 25 and a high in the low 90s.

Clear skies tonight as the winds relax. Low in the upper 50s.

Sunny tomorrow low 90s. Upper 90s Wednesday. Mid 90s Thursday. Breezy low 90s Friday and Saturday. Mid 90s Sunday.

Forecast for Sunday, May 13, 2018

Today’s Mother’s Day Special is sunshine and not as windy today, but still kinda windy. WSW winds this afternoon 15-25 mph gusting over 30. The last RED FLAG WARNING for awhile today, so if you are a hot Mom, be careful not to spark something! Today’s high right at average if it comes exactly true at 91.

Winds relaxing overnight tonight but still a WSW breeze 5-15 mph and a low a couple of degrees below average at 58ish.

A bit of a warming trend this week before our next “breeze” maker Friday and Saturday. Sunny tomorrow and Tuesday low 90s. Mid 90s Wednesday. Upper 90s Thursday. Mid 90s Friday. Low 90s Saturday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Saturday, May 12, 2018

If you liked yesterday you’re gonna love today! (hey, it could happen) A storm in northern Nevada is sorta stuck there and that will generate winds again today. It’s a weakening low, but still windy enough today for a WIND ADVISORY (so be advised, it’s gonna be windy) from 11:00 this morning until 8:00 tonight and a RED FLAG WARNING during the same time period. Please be careful setting stuff on fire lest you burn it all down! Plenty of sunshine to go with our wind and a bit cooler too. Just a couple of degrees above our average for this time of year of 90. Warming up with sunshine as we head through next week. Here we go!

Sunny and windy today with SW winds increasing to 20-25 mph gusting over 35 and a high in the low 90s.

Breezy tonight SW 10-20 mph gusting to 25 but relaxing some after midnight and a low near 60.

Breezy tomorrow with sunshine. SW winds 15-20 mph gusting over 30 and a high in the low 90s.

Sunny Monday and Tuesday mid 90s. Upper 90s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for Friday, May 11, 2018

If you have hatches, batten them down! It’s gonna be windy. So windy in fact that the National Weather Services has issued a RED FLAG WARNING from 10:00 this morning until 8:00 tonight AND a WIND ADVISORY from 1:00 this afternoon until 8:00 tonight. They are doubling down on the wind so so are we. Areas of blowing dust in the usual places with SE winds this morning becoming SSW this afternoon 20-30 mph gusting to around 40. Today’s high in the upper 90s.

Breezes hanging in there tonight with SW winds 15-25 gusting over 30 but relaxing abit after midnight with a low in the mid 60s.

Windy again tomorrow and cooler with a FIRE WEATHER WATCH in effect. SW winds 15-25 mph gusting to near 40 and a high in the low 90s.

We’ll call it breezy Sunday although some may classify SW winds 10-20 mph gusting to 30 as on the windy side. Sunday’s high near 90.

Sunny Monday low 90s. Mid 90s Tuesday and Wednesday. Upper 90s Thursday. Hang in there!

Forecast for Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Our string of 100 and/or higher degree days continues today and tomorrow. However the streak will end at 5 with windy condition returning to southern Arizona Friday and Saturday as a strong system moving through the Great Basin misses us to the north. A FIRE WEATHER WATCH has been issued for Friday and Saturday. Hopefully there won’t be any fires to watch. Cooler this weekend into next week but still a few degrees above average.

Sunny today with a high near 102.

Mostly clear tonight upper 60s.

102ish tomorrow. Windy Friday with areas of blowing dust and SW winds 20-25 gusting over 35 with a high in the upper 80s. Breezy Saturday low 90s. A bit breezy Sunday low 90s. Near 90 Monday. Mid 90s Tuesday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Tuesday, May 8, 2018

Our old pal high pressure still with us the next couple of days with highs near or just above 100. About 10 degrees above average for this time of year, but no records are in jeopardy. A storm missing us to the north in the Great Basin will kick up our winds Friday and Saturday and cool us down a bit for the weekend and to start next week. Be cool!

Sunny today near 100. Mostly sunny tomorrow 102ish. 101 Thursday. Breezy (probably windy) Friday upper 90s. Breezy Saturday (not quite as windy) low 90s. Sunny low 90s Sunday and Monday.

Forecast for Monday, May 7, 2018

103 yesterday was so close to the record 104, but in the words of Maxwell Smart, “Missed it by that much.” Still, our first 100 degree reading of 2018 occurred at 12:12 yesterday afternoon for those of you keeping score at home. Subtle changes in the weather pattern the next few days will mean more of the same until Friday or so. A couple of degrees “cooler” today with a high near 101ish. A few high clouds for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement.  This morning’s sunrise was pretty nice!

Mostly clear skies tonight with a low in the upper 60s. Near 100 Tuesday and Wednesday. 101 Thursday.

Then it’s the winds of change Friday as a storm moves through the Great Basin. We know the drill. Breezy (windy?) and cooling off some for the weekend. Breezy Friday upper 90s. Lingering breezes Saturday mid 90s. Low 90s Sunday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, May 6, 2018

Gird your loins! Or, you know, at least wear shorts might be the modern version. First 100 degree day of 2018 expected this afternoon. 102 if exactly true will be 2 away from the record set in 1989. An increase in moisture may bring a storm or two to the mountains well to our south and east. Just an FYI if you see something that looks like a cloud in the distance. Also a few high clouds possible through tomorrow so perhaps some sunrise and sunset enhancement. Breezy cooler weather perhaps by next weekend. Otherwise it’s sunshine and early Summer through Friday.

Sunny today near 102. Clear tonight near 72. 101ish tomorrow. 100 Tuesday. 99 Wednesday and Thursday. 98 Friday. 93 Saturday.

Forecast for Friday, May 4, 2018

It’s Friiidaaay!!! May the 4th be with you!

Here comes the advertised heat. Look at it this way, how else are we going to heat up area pools? High pressure building in with dry air means a quick warming trend. A bit of a NNE breeze this afternoon and a bit breezier tomorrow with east winds 10-20 mph and gusty. Otherwise it’s sunshine and the hottest weekend of the year. Still looking at 102 Sunday and near 100 for much of next week. Be cool!

Sunny today with a high pretty close to our average of 88. I rounded up to 90. Somewhere in there.

Clear skies tonight with a low in the low 60s.

Sunny tomorrow upper 90s. Near 102 Sunday. 101ish Monday. 100 Tuesday. 99 Wednesday. 100 Thursday.
