Forecast for Saturday, September 8, 2018

Roses are red. Violets are true. The sun will be bright and the sky will be blue. Highs near 100 and lows near 74. Today’s record is 105 so I guess the heat could be more. Upper 90s Monday and Tuesday with high pressure ruling the roost. Then it moves into New Mexico to give our moisture a boost! Still just a slight chance for storms expected the middle of next week. We’ll just have to wait and see if reality matches that of which I speak.

Have a great weekend! Signed, the friendly folk at Tucson Weather 😎

Forecast for Friday, September 7, 2018

It’s Friiidaaay!!!

When is a 10% chance for storms not a zero percent chance for storms? When it’s yesterday! Most of us (but not all) with at least a little bit of rain as Monsoon 2018 decided she wanted to hang out one more evening before she ghosts us for awhile. Drier air already moving in and we’ll be on the warm side through the weekend into next week with highs in the upper 90s to near 100ish. Coffee on the deck lows will be pleasantly pleasant with lows in the low 70s. Moisture moving back in next week with a 10% chance for showers and storms Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with highs in then upper 90s and lows in the low 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Thursday, September 6, 2018

Roses are red. Mostly sunny skies are mostly blue. Slight chance for storms. Hopefully near you!

Monsoon 2018 trying to hang in there for us. Unfortunately the trough moving through the state is pushing the moisture east so just a 10% chance this afternoon and evening. High pressure building off the California coast this weekend will put us in a northerly flow and push Monsoon moisture into Mexico. Highs near 100 Saturday and Sunday. Upper 90s Monday and Tuesday. Monsoon moisture heading back our way with a slight chance of storms returning to us Tuesday night and Wednesday. Wednesday’s high in the upper 90s. Lows in the low 70s, so amazing coffee on the deck weather! Enjoy.

Forecast for Wednesday, September 5, 2018

So gorgeous on the deck with a cup of coffee this morning! Temperature near 70 with a dewpoint near 60. Lots of sunshine today, but with enough moisture hanging in there for a storm or two possible this evening, hopefully near you. As high pressure builds to our west a northerly flow will push Monsoon 2018 back into Mexico. The drier air will give us higher highs, but still pleasant lows through the weekend into next week. Enjoy!

I’m not giving up on Monsoon 2018 just yet. So far 6.20″ has fallen for the season officially at the airport. Already past the average TOTAL Monsoon of 6.06″ and well above the average Monsoon to date (as of Sept. 2nd) of 4.91″. Officially we are doing really well and we still have a couple three weeks to add to the totals.

Meanwhile back to the forecast. Sunny tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday with highs in the upper 90s and lows in the low to mid 70s. 100ish Sunday. Upper 90s Monday and Tuesday.

Forecast for Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Monsoon 2018. She’s hanging in there at least one more day after a very quiet Labor Day. There was a lone storm over Oracle last evening. Otherwise, it was a mostly sunny and cool day! You know. By Tucson Labor Day standards. Another cool day today near 93 with enough moisture for a storm or three this afternoon, hopefully near you! Better chances to our east and that’s where they’ll remain for the rest of the week. Warming up as the weekend approacheth. Sunny mid 90s tomorrow. Upper 90s Thursday and Friday. Near 100ish Saturday. Upper 90s Sunday and Monday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, September 3, 2018

Amazing Monsoon 2018 day yesterday! Almost everyone getting in on the action. There was hail, big time rain, vivid lightning and generally tons of Monsoon fun. Storm action winding down this week, but still a chance for a storm or three this afternoon. Hopefully near you. Today’s high 5 degrees below the average of 97. Upper 60s right now on the deck and we’ll do that again tomorrow morning. So nice. Low 90s tomorrow with a slight chance for a storm. Mid 90s with sunshine Wednesday. Upper 90s Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Mid 90s Sunday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, September 2, 2018

Yesterday was fun! Some folks got decent rain as the definition of scattered storms popped up across the Metro. If you didn’t get rained on you can hold out hope for this afternoon and tonight! Our system to the north will creep a bit more south today giving us an enhanced chance for showers and storms, hopefully near you. Temperatures will be quite pleasant for this time of year with highs in the low 90s and lows near 70 expected through Tuesday. Drier air returns after that with mid 90s Wednesday and  10% chance for storms. Mostly sunny Thursday and Friday upper 90s. Upper 90s Saturday with a 10% chance for storms.

Forecast for Saturday, September 1, 2018

In Meteorology the Fall Months are September, October and November. So. Welcome to Fall! Summer and Monsoon 2018 not giving up quite so easily yet. Moisture is here and a trailing trough from a storm passing to our north should spark a few storms today and especially tomorrow night. Hopefully near you! Storm chances linger into Labor Day before we dry out for much of next week. Monsoon starts to wind down in September as we know. But. We may still have our moments before we are done!

Mostly sunny today with a 20% chance for storms starting perhaps as early as 11:00 this morning with storm chances into the evening hours. High in the upper 90s. Low in the low 70s.

Mostly sunny tomorrow with just a 10% chance for afternoon storms, but a 40% chance tomorrow night! High in the mid 90s. Low in the upper 60s!

20%/10% Labor Day low 90s. Mostly sunny Tuesday mid 90s. 10%/10% Wednesday mid 90s. Mostly sunny Thursday upper 90s. 10% Friday mid 90s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Friday, August 31, 2018

It’s Friiidaaay!!!

It’s also the last day of August. Weird! Another also is Meteorologically speaking September is the first month of Fall. Tucson tends to hang on to Summer longer than most, so we’ll plan on that. The good news is the National Weather Service outlook for September is calling for above average rainfall for Arizona. Hopefully that comes true! Viva Monsoon 2018! She hasn’t left us for good yet.

Dewpoints in the low 60s this morning and we’ll likely hold on to enough moisture into the evening for a slight chance of an isolated storm or two, hopefully near you. Otherwise mostly sunny today with a high near 99.

Tomorrow looks interesting. A pacific system moving through mainly to our north will be close enough to pull in more moisture from the south and provide some extra lift. We’ll go with a partly cloudy Saturday with a 40% chance for afternoon storms and a high in the mid 90s. 30% chance for storms tomorrow night low 70s.

20%/20% Sunday mid 90s. 20%/10% Labor Day mid 90s. Mostly sunny Tuesday mid 90s. 20%/10% Wednesday mid 90s. 10% Thursday mid 90s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Thursday, August 30, 2018

That escalated quickly! Monsoon 2018 loves us! She really really loves us! Outflow from storms overnight in Mexico have brought us increased moisture and some cloud cover this morning. So. We have a slight chance of storms back in the forecast! Just a 10% today, tonight through tomorrow night, but you are saying there’s a chance. High near 99 today and 100ish tomorrow.

Then a system approacheth from the west giving us a southerly flow to pull up moisture from the south plus energy and wind shear (different wind directions at different elevations in the atmosphere) will not only increase our chance for storms, but some of them may be severe. Call it a 40% chance for afternoon storms Saturday and a 30% chance for evening storms and a high in the mid 90s.

Scattered storms Sunday with a high in the mid 90s. 20% chance Labor Day mid 90s. 10% Tuesday mid 90s. 20% Wednesday mid 90s. Viva Monsoon 2018!
