Forecast for Thursday, December 19, 2019

It won’t be long now! I’m rather exited about it my own self. It’s the event everyone is waiting for! Of course I’m talking about our next storm system 🙂 A broad area of low pressure will bring us a series of storms, an extended period of shower chances, and general coolness just in time for Christmas week. So. Here comes Santa Claus! Bringing all the good children of SE AZ valley rain and mountain snow. Apparently you have been very good this year!

A system missing us to the north today will bring slightly cooler temperatures. Lots of sunshine and less wind will make it feel a bit warmer though. High in the low 60s.

Chilly start tomorrow morning (mmm Chili’s) with a low in the mid 30s. You might even freeze if you aren’t careful. Sunny after sunrise (makes sense) with a high in the upper 60s.

Our first storm approacheth with increasing clouds this weekend and warm. Mostly sunny Saturday low 70s. Mostly cloudy Sunday mid 70s! Mostly cloudy Monday near 70ish. Rain chances start Monday night with showers likely Tuesday and a high in the upper 50s. Partly sunny Christmas Day with a chance for showers and a high in the upper 50s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike… What day is it Mike? It’s one week before Christmas! The last hustle and bustle weekend before the big day looks amazing. A big change in the weather pattern next week looks like it will bring us a couple of storm systems. Rain and mountain snow early next week into Christmas Day and another later in the week. We are a ways away, so still time to fine tune those details. In other words, we’ll burn that bridge when we get to it. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, everyone knows it’s Windy! East breezes kicking up again today with high clouds from time to time for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement. East winds 15-25 mph gusting to near 35 and a cool high in the low 60s.

Mostly clear tonight with winds relaxing and a low in the mid 30s.

Sunny low 60s tomorrow. Upper 60s Friday. Low 70s Saturday. Increasing clouds Sunday as our first storm approacheth with a high in the upper 60s. Slight chance for showers Monday low 60s. Showers likely Tuesday (Christmas Eve Day!) low 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, December 16, 2019

Happy Monday! (it could happen) Cooler and drier air is settling into Arizona and as a result it is cooler and drier. (weird, I know) It’ll be chilly most of the day today and tomorrow. (mmm Chili’s! (maybe they should sponsor Tucson Weather?!)) Cold tonight with a FREEZE WARNING in effect. Be warned. It’s probably gonna freeze. Breezy tomorrow and Wednesday with a bit of warming starting Wednesday. The last weekend of hustling and bustling before Christmas looks great! Still watching for some sort of storm for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. The timing, track, and strength are all still up in the air. (see what I did there?) Even though I’m heading to Texas for the holiday, I’ll still keep you posted. (pretty sure they have the internet in Texas) Stay tuned!

Sunny and cool today with a high in the upper 50s. FREEZE WARNING tonight with a low of freezing. Colder near washes and on the NE side.

Christmas is approachething! A snow storm getting its act together in Colorado and moving into the plains will miss us well to the north. However. It will drag some cooler air into the Grand Canyon State. Sometimes it’s good to be below average. You know. If it helps get you in the Christmasy mood. It’ll stay dry for now, but Christmas Eve is looking interesting for maybe some rain and mountain snow. A white Christmas in Summerhaven? That is a ways away. We’ll keep you posted as we go. Here’s what we are more certain of…

Forecast for Friday, December 13, 2019

It’s Friiidaaay!!! the 13th. Friday the 13th. No worries. Remember, Monday the 13th is MUCH worser! At least we don’t have giant spiders wondering around at night like in Minecraft! That would be terrifying. Don’t even get me started on Creepers, but I digress. Back to the Tucson Weather…

Nice warm up into the weekend before we cool off next week. Let’s take a look, shall we? We shall.

Sunny today and tomorrow with highs in the mid 70s! Lows in the upper 40s. Mostly sunny Sunday upper 60s.

A storm to our north and very cold air spilling into the Plains will filter colder air into Arizona. East winds kicking up a bit next week as well. Chilly (mmm chili) in the mornings and cool days. Another system headed our way late in the week.

Sunny Monday low 60s. Mid to upper 30s Tuesday morning. Sunny Tuesday low 60s. Mostly cloudy low 60s Wednesday. Mostly cloudy mid 60s Thursday. Will we see rain and mountain snow Thursday into next weekend? Maybe, but right now the National Weather Service is taking a wait and see how things develop as we get closer attitude. Stay tuned!

Maybe 4 to 7 inches in Summerhaven perhaps. Prime time for the storm will be Sunday into Monday with a few hundredths of an inch of rain to perhaps .40″ in the city.
