Forecast for Tuesday, February 5, 2019

As one storm exits stage east, another approacheth from the NW. Yesterday’s rain showers pushed us over a half inch for the last two days officially at the airport. Some areas in the Metro picking up an inch or so! As always, your individual mileage may vary. Our next storm is bringing Old Man Winter back to Tucson’s Weather. (why is Winter an old man?) The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY above 6,000 feet starting this evening at 5:00 lasting through 11:00 tomorrow morning. Be advised, there will be winter weather above 6,000 feet. Summerhaven is expecting 4 to 8 inches from the storm. And. There may be some light accumulations as low as 4,000 feet tomorrow morning! Can we push that down to Corona de Tucson, Vail, SaddleBrooke? I’m not gonna say it can’t happen, but more likely a dusting in Oracle perhaps. (maybe) There is a lot of moisture here thanx to the SW flow ahead of the storm, so rain is likely in the Metro tonight and tomorrow morning with lingering showers into the afternoon. COLD (you know it’s COLD when we break out the BOLD!) behind the storm with clearing skies tomorrow night and a low in the upper 20s Thursday morning! brrrr. Near freezing Friday morning. Highs only in the low to mid 50s the next couple of days. Despite a warming trend through the weekend, highs near or slight below average for this time of year with sunshine. Stay tuned!

Mostly cloudy today with a 20% chance for showers and a high in the low 60s. Showers likely tonight with a low in the low 40s. Showers likely tomorrow morning with isolated showers perhaps lingering into the afternoon with a high only in the low 50s. Mostly clear Wednesday night with a Thursday morning low in the upper 20s! Sunny Thursday mid 50s. Freezing ish Friday morning with an afternoon high in the upper 60s. Mostly sunny upper 60s Saturday. Mid 60s Sunday. Partly sunny Monday mid 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, February 4, 2019

Happy Monday! Not an oxymoron not around here…

I woke up to the weirdest dream. There was fog and it was drizzling. It reminded me of growing up in Oregon. And you were there, and you were there, and you were…

Yeah, fog and drizzle this morning! Super cool 😎 It’s all part of the storm near the northern California coast pulling moisture northward. The snow level is way high with rain falling in the Catalinas. The light rain should shift eastward later this morning and the fog will lift and we can see clearly now the rain is gone. But. Not for long. Our next storm approacheth and this one is bringing Winter back to southern Arizona. Good chance for showers and mountain snow tomorrow night and Wednesday. Snow levels crashing down to 5,500 feet or so before it’s done. An inch or three possible in Summerhaven. A chilly rain (mmm chili) for Tuesday (tomorrow) night and Wednesday with a high only in the low 50s. Clearing out Wednesday night with freezing temperatures for the Metro both Thursday and Friday mornings. Sunshine for the weekend, but highs below average in the low to mid 60s. Stay tuned!

Scattered showers and patchy fog this morning becoming partly sunny with a high in the low 60s. Isolated showers tonight (maybe) with a low in the mid 40s. 10% Tuesday otherwise partly sunny low 60s. 40% Tuesday night mid 40s. 30% Wednesday low 50s. Mostly clear Wednesday night 32ish. Sunny Thursday mid 50s. Freezing Friday morning. Sunny mid 60s Friday afternoon. Mostly sunny Saturday mid 60s. Low 60s Sunday.

Forecast for Sunday, February 3, 2019

Yesterday’s sprinkles and rain chances overnight were greatly exaggerated! However. The cold front is still on it’s way. It’s just fashionably late. Hopefully it will bring the seven layer dip for the big game! (mostly cloudy with a chance for guacamole?!) Well, it is bringing rain showers as advertised. In fact it was light raining on the deck just a bit ago. (hashtag #notfakenews) The slow movement of the weakening storm means showers lingering into tomorrow. Super Sunday won’t be a super soaker, but still expecting a tenth to four tenths of an inch of rain in the Metro. An inch of rain possible in the mountains with the snow level way up there above 8,500 feet! Snow mixing in with the rain today in Summerhaven with snow showers through Wednesday night, but no real accumulations expected until Wednesday and Wednesday night. A break in the action Monday night and Tuesday between systems. Our next storm due in here Tuesday night through Wednesday looks colder, but not as much moisture. Rain showers in the valleys and lower mountain snow. Colder to end the week behind our next storm with lows back down to freezing in Tucson Friday morning. Then some warming next weekend. Stay tuned!

Showers today with a high in the low 60s. Scattered showers tonight low near 50ish. Scattered showers tomorrow low 60s. Partly sunny Tuesday low 60s. 30% Tuesday night mid 40s. 40% Wednesday low 50s. 20% Wednesday night becoming partly cloudy low 30s. Sunny Thursday low 50s. Freezing Friday morning and sunny during the day low 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Saturday, February 2, 2019

Unsettled Tucson Weather through the weekend and most of next week! Unsettling perhaps for some. I, for one, welcome our partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a chance to good chance for showers overlords!

A low currently along the northern California coast will move into the Great Basin. That will cause two things to happen. The SW flow will bring up a bunch of moisture. We are already clouding (yep. spell check says that’s a word) up this morning and we should see sprinkles off and on today (mmm sprinkles). The second thing that will happen is the low will drag a cold front through the area tonight that will interact with the moisture and give us a good chance for showers and mountain rain late tonight into tomorrow. Yep. Mountain rain! Sorry about that Summerhaven. Could see up to .40″ in the valleys and maybe an inch (of rain. maybe some snow mixed in tomorrow) on the mountain. Another storm approacheth by mid next week. Lots of possibilities with this one! In between storms we’ll keep an onshore flow with occasional disturbances in the force to keep isolated to scattered showers in the forecast through most of next week. The mid week storm could (could) give us a real soaking. Or. If it stays north more of a scattered showering. Still. It’s plenty of clouds with some sun and off and on rain through the weekend into late next week! Stay tuned!

Partly sunny today with occasional sprinkles and a high in the upper 60s. 40% chance for scattered showers tonight and a low in the low 50s. 90% chance for showers tomorrow and a high in the low 60s. 40% Sunday night and 30% Monday mid 60s. 10% Monday night and Tuesday low 60s. 10% Tuesday night and 40% Wednesday upper 50s. 20% Wednesday night and 10% Thursday upper 50s. Sunny Friday low 60s. Enjoy!

It’s Friiidaaay!!!

And it’s February. Feb-roo-airy. Just sayin’ 🌝 Cupid running amok and stuff. Let the fun begin! It’s all good as long as chocolate is involved. Oh yeah, the Tucson Weather… Showers occurring this morning as our weakening storm rolls through. Still. A chance for a thunderstorm thrown in with the shower chances today before the storm moves on by tonight. Rain and snow in Summerhaven, but no snow accumulations expected. A break tomorrow, but plenty of clouds hangin’ around as our next storm approacheth. This next one looks much wetter with a good soaking possible mainly Saturday night and Sunday. A break on Tuesday and then another storm heads our way by mid next week. The models are still sorting that one out, but it could bring us a good soaking as well. Stay tuned!

Scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm this morning with isolated showers and maybe a storm this afternoon. High today in the upper 60s. Partly cloudy tonight upper 40s. Partly sunny tomorrow upper 60s. 40% chance for showers Saturday night and a 70% chance Sunday. Sunday’s high in the mid 60s. 10% Monday low 60s. Partly sunny Tuesday near 60ish. 20% Tuesday night and Wednesday. Wednesday’s high in the upper 50s. 20% Wednesday night and 10% Thursday. Thursday’s high near 60ish ness.
