Forecast for Thursday, December 6, 2018

Here we go! The time for talk is over. The time for precipitation has arrived. Our much advertised storm is here and our anticipated rain and high mountain snow is imminent! By high mountain snow I’m talking a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY above 8,000 feet (be advised there will be Winter weather above 8,000 feet) in effect from 5:00 tonight until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow. Not much accumulation expected in Summerhaven, but maybe a foot of snow (maybe) above 8,500 feet.

Meanwhile, here in the lowlands, a few showers possible today with prime time tonight and tomorrow. Maybe even a thunderstorm thrown in! Still expecting storm totals of .25″ – .75″ perhaps isolated amounts a bit higher. As always, your individual mileage may vary. The storm exits stage east and will have all kinds of fun in the southern Plains and perhaps historic snow totals in North Carolina and Virginia. But, this is Tucson Weather, so we’ll enjoy the return of the Sun this weekend. Perhaps another system in here by Tuesday night/Wednesday of next week. Stay tuned!

Mostly cloudy today with isolated showers and a high near 65ish. Showers likely tonight with a low in the upper 40s. Showers and possibly a storm tomorrow with a high in the low 60s. Lingering showers Friday night with clearing skies Saturday and a high in the low 60s. Sunny Sunday upper 60s. Mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday upper 60s. Slight chance for showers Tuesday night and Wednesday with a high in the low 60s.
