Forecast for Thursday, January 17, 2019

Friday’s slight chance for rain has been greatly exaggerated. Due to lack of interest it has been cancelled. However. A storm missing us to the north will bring some NW breezes Friday and cool us off a bit Friday night. Warming up this weekend with another system missing us to the north and bringing some colder air by Tuesday. Otherwise, not much to write home about. I guess if we did it would go something like this:

Dearest Maybelle,

My stay in Tucson has been most pleasant. The locals are nice enough and the food is second only to your home cooking. My heart aches to hold you again soon. I look forward to that day when my top secret mission that I can’t discuss in person, nor in letter, is complete.

I must tell you. The weather that we have been experiencing has been completely normal weather for this time of year. Indeed our forecast is also pretty benign. A mixture of clouds and sun have given us the best sunrises and sunsets I have ever seen in my travels around the world. If only you were here to enjoy them with me. (but I digress) We are looking forward to a lot of sunshine today with a high near 70ish, which is a bit warmer than we’ve been lately. Partly cloudy tonight with a low near 45. (Great snuggling weather. Just sayin’) Mostly sunny tomorrow with a northwest breeze and a high in the mid 60s. Chilly Saturday morn’ (you know how I love chili) with a low in the mid to upper 30s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s. Low 70s Sunday! Near 70 on MLK Day. Perhaps we both have the day off and we can Facetime! Sunny Tuesday near 60. Low 60s Wednesday.

I shall write soon about any future weather developments.

Enjoy!
Mike

Forecast for Wednesday, January 16, 2019

Skunked! “Our” storm system stayed to the north and although I had maybe 4 drops of rain yesterday evening here in southern OV there wasn’t much rain (if any) to speak of. It happens. High clouds moving across southern Arizona today as a weak low approacheth Baja California. That low should move through northern Mexico providing enhanced sunrise and sunset possibilities through Thursday. Another system missing us to the north on Friday could (maybe) give us a slight chance for showers on Friday. A chilly start (mmm chili) to the weekend behind that system with Saturday morning’s low in the mid 30s. Mid to upper 60s the rest of the MLK weekend with sunshine. Cooling off again on Tuesday. Stay tuned!

Mostly sunny today with a high in the mid 60s. Partly cloudy tonight low 40s. Sunny upper 60s tomorrow. 20% chance Friday mid 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s. Upper 60s Sunday and MLK Day. Low 60s Tuesday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Tuesday, January 15, 2019

Somehow it’s mid January already. Where does the time go? The future. The time goes into the future.

Our storm is approachething and is already bring showers to our west. Expect increasing clouds today with a chance for showers tonight. The better chance for rain will be to our north. Only expecting a tenth of an inch or less for valley locations. Maybe an inch of new snow in Summerhaven tonight. We get a break in the action tomorrow and Thursday with just a slight chance for showers on Friday from a storm that will be a bit more to the north. After that it is sunshine, rainbows, unicorns, and average temperatures (without the rainbows and unicorns). Stay tuned!

Increasing clouds today with a high in the upper 60s. A 20% chance for showers tonight with a low in the mid 40. Mostly sunny tomorrow 66ish. Mostly sunny Thursday upper 60s. 10% Friday mid 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s. Sunny Sunday upper 60s. Sunny MLK Day mid 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Monday, January 14, 2019

Happy Monday! Not an oxymoron, Not around here!

Our next storm approacheth. Although not in the officila forecast, the National weather service says don’t be surprised if we see a stray shower or two today. Otherwise it’s partly sunny skies (mostly cloudy with some Sun). The main event is tomorrow and tomorrow night with up to a quarter inch or rain in the valley and an inch or two of snow possible between now and Wednesday in Summerhaven. A bit of a break before our next system moves in by Friday. This one looks to be a bit more to the north, so chances aren’t as great. However, it is the weather, so stay tuned!

Partly sunny today with a high in the mid 60s. Partly cloudy tonight mid 40s. 20% chance for showers tomorrow mid 60s. 30% tomorrow night mid 40s. Partly sunny Wednesday mid 60s. Mostly sunny Thursday upper 60s. 10% Friday mid 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s. Upper 60s Sunday. Enjoy!

Forecast for Sunday, January 13, 2018

It’s raining! Although the airport has only picked up a trace as of this writing (6am). It looks a lot wetter than that on my deck here in Oro Valley. I’ll have some rainfall amounts for you a little later today. One storm exits today and another approacheth! It should be in here by Tuesday with a similar setup. Perhaps up to a quarter of an inch of rain for us bottom dwellers and an inch or three of snow above 7,000 feet ish. That storm exits and yet another approacheth and should be in here by Thursday night/Friday. Highs in the mid 60s which is average for this time of year and lows in the low to mid 40s which is a couple few degrees above average. Stay tuned.

Partly sunny today after some morning rain showers and a high in the low 60s. Mostly cloudy tonight low 40s. Partly sunny tomorrow mid 60s. 20% Tuesday and tuesday night mid 60s. Partly sunny Wednesday mid 60s. Mostly sunny Thursday mid 60s. 10% Thursday night and Friday mid 60s. Sunny Saturday mid 60s.

Forecast for Saturday, January 12, 2019

Our next storm approaceth. An inch or two possible overnight in Summerhaven and a quarter inch or less of rain for us desert folk. Another system moving into California early next week will bring an increase in clouds and moisture from the SW. A couple disturbances in the force should provide some light rain and/or sprinkles (mmm sprinkles). Another system in here Thursday night/Friday should provide more droplets of water falling from the sky. Time will tell of course! Oh. And a mixture of clouds and Sun the next week could mean sunrise and sunset enhancement! Stay tuned!

Mostly sunny today and a high near 68ish. 30% chance for showers tonight low 40s. Slight chance for lingering showers tomorrow morning otherwise mostly sunny low 60s. Partly sunny Monday mid 60s. 10% Tuesday mid 60s. Partly sunny Wednesday and Thursday mid 60s. 20% Thursday night and 10% Friday low 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Friday, January 11, 2019

It’s Friiidaaay!!!

Sort of an active pattern kinda continues for southern Arizona. Our next not very strong system should move through Saturday night giving us a slightly better than slight chance for rain. Then a break with temperatures staying near average (mid 60s) for this time of time of year into next week. Another weak system will give us sort of maybe a slight kinda light rain or something by Wednesday night. My goodness man. If you are gonna be a storm get out there and hit someone! (to use a football analogy) Hopefully my pep talk works! If you don’t want the rain hopefully it just goes away. Stay tuned!

Sunny today with a high near 65ish. Mostly clear tonight with a low in the upper 30s. Sunny mid 60s tomorrow. 20% Saturday night near 40ish. Mostly sunny Sunday mid 60s. Partly sunny Monday mid 60s. Mostly sunny Tuesday mid 60s. Partly sunny Wednesday mid 60s. 10% Wednesday night and Thursday low 40s mid 60s respectively. Enjoy!

Forecast for Thursday, January 10, 2018

A trough to our west and high pressure to the east. Here I am. Stuck in the middle with moisture flowing in from the sub tropics (which is actually above the tropics. Go figure). A disturbance in the force may help wring out a few showers again today kinda like yesterday. (which was kinda awesome. not gonna lie) Our weekend storm is looking like not that big a deal, but an inch or two of snow above 6,500 feet or so and a few showers down here in the desert perhaps Saturday night. Otherwise highs really close to, or just above, average and days filled with a mixture of clouds and Sun, fun, and frivolity. Unless you have to work. Then there’s that. Stay tuned!

Mostly cloudy today with a slight chance for light rain and a high in the upper 60s. Mostly clear tonight with a low near 40ish. Sunny low 60s tomorrow. Mostly sunny mid 60s Saturday. 20% Saturday night low 40s. Mostly sunny Sunday low 60s. Partly sunny Monday upper 60s. Mostly sunny Tuesday mid 60s. Partly sunny Wednesday mid 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Wednesday, January 9, 2018

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike. What day is it Mike?

As a trough of low pressure approacheth the west coast, tropical moisture is being pulled northward into southern Arizona. It is bringing cloudiness, but not really enough low level moisture for a lot of rain. Better chance south and east of town, but we could manage a few light rain showers (half the calories of our regular rain showers) or some sprinkles (mmm sprinkles) today. IF the Sun can manage to peak below the clouds at sunrise and/or sunset we could get possible sunrise and/or sunset enhancement! Keep those cameras and smart devices handy. We’ll keep the clouds around and another disturbance in the force may bring us a slight chance for light rain Thursday night. A better chance for scattered showers Saturday and Saturday night and perhaps an even better chance by Tuesday. Stay tuned!

10% chance for light rain today and a high in the upper 60s. Mostly cloudy tonight upper 40s. Partly sunny tomorrow upper 60s. 10% tomorrow night low 40s. Mostly sunny Friday mid 60s. 20% Saturday mid 60s. 30% Saturday night near 40ish. Mostly sunny Sunday low 60s. 10% Monday mid 60s. 30% Tuesday low 60s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Warmin’ up! Before our next several storms approacheth. Some high clouds today and tonight for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement, so there’s that. Our first storm should be in here by Thursday with a lot of tropical moisture, but not a lot of instability to bring the rain. Still. A few showers are possible with a better chance for rain and snow in the high country. Two storms to follow. The first this weekend and the next early next week. The details are still up in the air (see what I did there?) but it is looking like a more active pattern for southern Arizona. That’s a good thing if you like rain and mountain snow. Stay tuned!

Mostly sunny today with a high in the low 70s. Partly cloudy tonight mid 40s. Partly sunny tomorrow upper 60s. 10% Thursday upper 60s. Sunny Friday mid 60s. 20% Saturday low 60s. Mostly sunny Sunday near 60ish. 20% Monday mid 60s. Enjoy!
