Forecast for Saturday, January 6, 2018

More high cloudiness today for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement as a system moves out of the Great Basin to the Four Corners. No threat of rain or mountain snow this far south and we’ll stay on the warm side. Upper 70s today. Mid 70s tomorrow. Upper 70s Monday.

By Monday night into Tuesday we’ll see those clouds start to thicken as another, stronger, storm heads our direction. Isolated showers possible Tuesday with the main event Tuesday night into Wednesday. Valley locations still looking at up to a half inch of rain from this storm. Snow levels dropping to around 5,000 – 6,000 feet. Cooler temperatures too. Isolated showers Tuesday mid 70s. Scattered showers Tuesday night into Wednesday morning becoming isolated Wednesday low 60s.

Sunshine returns Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid 60s to near 70 respectively. We’ll keep you posted as we go.

Forecast for Friday, January 5, 2018

“Things” are getting interesting. Especially mid next week. High pressure still in control, but a storm moving through the Four Corners this weekend will add some added clouds to the mix. Sunrise and sunset enhancement certainly a possibility. Still warm with highs today through Monday in the mid to upper 70s.

The models are in agreement! A storm approacheth Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance for rain with highs in the mid 70s.

The storm moves through Tuesday night and Wednesday with valley rain and mountain snow. Early indications are we could see up to a half inch of rain with snow levels as low as 5,000 feet before the storm leaves us. Wednesday’s high in the mid 60s.

Sunshine returns Thursday with a high near 65ish. The details will come into better focus as we get closer. Stay tuned!

Forecast for Thursday, January 4, 2018

A weak disturbance in the force moving through southern Arizona is giving us some sprinkles and light rain this morning (half the calories than our regular rain). High this afternoon in the low 70s. Look for this feature to move east by tonight with clearing skies.

Mostly sunshine and warm temperatures prevail through the weekend into next week with highs in the mid 70s tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Then a storm approacheth from the pacific and should move our way by Tuesday night with a chance for showers Tuesday night and Wednesday with a high in the low 70s. Enjoy!

Forecast for Wednesday, January 3, 2018

High clouds still around for possible sunrise and sunset enhancement. Warm temperatures too and breezy today with east winds 10-20 mph and gusty and a high in the mid 70s. Winds relax tonight with a low in the mid 40s. Sunny tomorrow with just a few high clouds around and a high in the mid 70s. Upper 70s Friday. Increasing clouds Friday night with partly sunny skies Saturday and Sunday as a weak system brings a slight chance of light rain to our north. We should stay dry with highs in the upper 70s Saturday and low 70s Sunday. Mostly sunny Monday low 70s. Mid 70s Tuesday. There is a hint that another system may bring us a better chance for rain mid next week. We’ll see. Stay tuned!

Forecast for Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Another shot of Arctic air is moving into the eastern half of the country reinforcing the frigid temperatures that have been hanging out there for the past week +. Even northern Florida could see some snow today and tomorrow! That leaves the SW US (us) as the nations last best hope for mild temperatures and fun in the Sun! (OK, filtered Sun). The computer models can’t agree on the details, so some of this forecast is up in the air. (see what I did there?) A mix of high clouds and sunshine today and continued warm with highs in the mid 70s. A cold front approacheth from the east tomorrow but how far west will it get? If it moves through Tucson our forecast high of 72ish will be optimistic. Either way we should see some gusty east winds in gusty east winds prone areas such as much of Tucson, but not as bad in Oro Valley, for example. Thicker high clouds tomorrow too. Then it’s mostly sunshine Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid 70s. This weekend is a bit of a mystery as well. Increasing clouds Saturday as a storm approacheth, but the betting money is keeping the rain chances north of us this weekend. Even then, only light rain is expected. (half the calories of our regular rain). Mid 70s Saturday. Low 70s Sunday with partly sunny skies this weekend. Mostly sunny Monday near 70. We’ll keep an eye on all of it as usual. Stay tuned!
